Warranty & protection

What's covered,
and until when

Factory coverage still active today, factory powertrain protection into 2028 that transfers free — and the option to take over a transferable, bumper-to-bumper-style Assurant Premium plan that runs to 2033, at the price we'd get back by canceling it.

Factory bumper-to-bumper

Jeep's 3-year/36,000-mile basic limited warranty runs to October 6, 2026 — mileage was never the constraint. Coverage stays with the vehicle.

Transfers free

Factory powertrain

The 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty protects the engine, transmission, transfer case, and drive components to October 6, 2028 or 60,000 miles — over two years and 32,000 miles of factory coverage remaining, at no cost to you.

Federal coverage

Major emissions & corrosion

Federal major-emission components are covered 8 years/80,000 miles — to October 2031. Corrosion coverage runs 5 years with unlimited miles, to October 2028.

Transferable extended coverage

Bumper-to-bumper-style coverage to March 2033

In March 2026 we purchased an Assurant Vehicle Care Premium service contract — the exclusionary kind, which covers repairs except the contract's listed maintenance and wear exclusions. It runs to March 25, 2033 or 83,909 odometer miles with a $100 deductible, honored at any franchised dealer or licensed repair shop in the US and Canada, and backed by Assurant with claims insured by Virginia Surety.

  • Air suspension covered — "the quadra-lift is a covered system," confirmed in writing by the selling dealer's finance manager
  • 24/7 roadside & towing (up to $125/occurrence), $200/day trip interruption (up to 5 days, 100+ miles from home), $50/day substitute transportation (up to 10 days) — no deductible on these benefits
  • Private-party transfer only — a $50 administrator fee and a simple form within 30 days of sale. It cannot pass through a dealer trade — buying this truck privately is the only way to get it
We paid $2,600 in March
~$2,400
Yours at our documented pro-rata refund value — we pass along every dollar Assurant would return if we canceled instead.
Ask about the transfer

Optional and separate from the vehicle price — if you'd rather not take it, we simply cancel for the refund. Refund/transfer value computed per the contract's pro-rata formula (unused miles basis) as of August 2026 at 27,649 miles; the exact figure is set at sale. Transfer per Assurant Vehicle Care agreement PN7328952 terms; full contract available for review.

Paint protection · March 2026

Corrected, then sealed in XPEL ceramic

Black paint shows everything, so in March 2026 the truck went to Rahal Paint Protection (Zionsville, IN) for a full professional treatment: 6.5 hours of machine paint correction, then XPEL Fusion Plus Premium 9H ceramic — "the ultimate in ceramic coating technology," in XPEL's words — applied over the entire exterior, the trim, and the faces of all four 22-inch wheels.

  • $2,157.85 invested — invoice on file, paid in full
  • Paint protection film on the rear bumper top — the classic SUV loading wear point
  • Coated wheels & trim — easier brake-dust cleanup, protected trim
  • Locked-in correction — the coating sealed a swirl-corrected finish, which is why a three-year-old black truck photographs like this
  • Front bumper: brand new — replaced (not repaired), painted, and re-coated by Rahal in August 2026; the full story is on History & Care
